DES MOINES – AFSCME Council 61 President Danny Homan issued the following statement regarding the expiration of the State of Iowa employee contract and other city, county, and school contracts:
The attached lawsuits were filed with the Polk County District Court at 8:00 AM on Monday, February 20, 2017. They challenge the constitutionality of HF 291, the bill gutting collective bargaining for public employees in Iowa.
